A smile you'll want to share
Treatment With Braces
Braces are a time-tested method for correcting a variety of orthodontic issues from jaw and bite misalignment to crooked and crowded teeth. Treatment with braces can make it easier for adults and children to keep their teeth clean, chew and swallow well, and speak clearly. With braces, we can improve your oral health and give you a smile you'll want to show as often as possible.
With colorful elastics and powerchains, braces today can help you celebrate a holiday, show your super-fan status, and keep your style fresh! Our braces are 30% smaller than the average bracket, making them easier to clean and much more comfortable.

Common Questions About Braces
Choosing easy-to-chew foods (not hard, sticky, or chewy!) and making small changes to how you prepare the foods you love are the secrets to success with braces.
Soft foods like soups, stews, casseroles, pasta, scrambled eggs, and smoothies are good options. Preparation also makes a big difference! Instead of biting into your food, cut it into bite-sized pieces. Slice up fresh fruits like apples and pears, and consider steaming or boiling hard veggies to make them easier to chew. Cut up sandwiches, pizza, and other tough-to-tear foods instead of asking your teeth to do the work, and always cut corn off the cob before you eat it. These preparation tricks keep your brackets from popping off, and that means fewer trips to our office and shorter treatment times for you.
Heck yeah! Our patients sometimes joke with us about how their braces are their favorite fashion accessory! We love it when you express yourself and what better way than to pick your favorite colors at each appointment? Choose one or make a pattern—school colors, holiday colors, sports team colors—get creative!
You’re not stuck with your choice either. We change your colors at every appointment and there is never any extra charges for it.
Treatment times vary quite a bit depending on a bunch of factors such as how severe your orthodontic issues are and what we are trying to fix, but typically, treatment can range for milder cases from 11-12 months to average cases from 14-16 months to challenging cases from 24-30 months. Also, keep in mind that when you break a brace, it often increases the time needed for treatment so remember to be careful what you eat.
After you’ve had a consultation with us, we’ll give you all your options along with estimated time for treatment with each option so you know your options.
You're never too old for orthodontic treatment, and that includes with braces. A bright, welcoming, confident smile is an asset personally and in the workplace, and one in four orthodontic patients today is an adult. Straight teeth and a healthy bite make it easier to take good care of your teeth at home and help prevent gum disease, tooth decay, and uneven wear on tooth enamel. Today, even patients in their 60s and 70s can be found taking advantage of orthodontic treatment at our office to help live longer, healthier, more comfortable lives. It's never too late to look and feel your best!
You should expect some mild discomfort for the first few days after you get your braces, but there are ways to relieve that pain. Over-the-counter pain relievers, eating cold soft foods like pudding and ice cream, and rinsing your mouth with warm salt water (try 1 tsp salt to 8 oz. of warm water) will all help. If the pain persists or you're worried about it, you can always text us! We're here for you every step of the way.
