FAQ About Adult Orthodontics
Your first visit is about getting to know each other, assessing your needs, and working together to create a customized treatment plan. You'll share your concerns with us, and we'll do a thorough examination of your teeth, bite, and smile. We'll explain what we see to you, and get all of your questions answered. If there are good reasons to recommend orthodontic treatment, we'll explain all your treatment options, and put together a plan that meets your needs.
At Petrous Orthodontics, we want orthodontic care to be attainable and as low stress as possible, so we're here to help you figure out the financial piece of treatment too. During your first appointment, our team will talk with you about your insurance options and our interest free payment plans.
As an adult, you have your own unique concerns and so we do our best to tailor your treatment to address your concerns.
Because our teeth move throughout our lives, adults do have some additional options in comparison to growing teens. For adults with significant differences between their upper and lower jaws or severe sleep apnea, surgical orthodontics is sometimes a part of treatment. Adults with only minor orthodontic issues may be good candidates for our Smile Again Express option, which creates a cosmetic change in your smile in just four to six months but does not address issues with your bite. At your initial consultation, we'll talk through all of your treatment options with you and work with you to create a treatment plan that aligns with your orthodontic needs and goals, including treatment with braces or Invisalign.
The cost of orthodontic treatment varies depending on your needs, but our commitment to making treatment attainable does not. At Petrous Orthodontics, we believe that part of providing the highest standard of care is making your orthodontic treatment affordable. We specialize in developing affordable payment plans, and we are a premier provider for the majority of PPO insurance plans. We also work with you to utilize Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) to minimize out of pocket expenses.

Your First Orthodontic Appointment
Your initial consultation will give you the opportunity to meet Dr. Petrous and our team, tell us about your goals for treatment, receive a complete initial exam, and find out which treatment options will best meet your needs.
During your complimentary initial consultation, we'll get to know each other! We'll do a thorough exam, looking in detail at your bite, your smile, and your teeth. You'll share your concerns and goals with us, and we'll talk with you about your treatment options.
We'll also work with you to make sure that orthodontic treatment doesn't create financial stress. At your initial consult, we'll discus financial information, insurance options, and payment plans. You'll leave your initial consult with all of the orthodontic and financial information you need to make the best treatment decisions for you and your smile.
