One that makes most people stay away from braces, and choose a different alternative like veneers or crowns. You guessed it .. Their looks. If you have been racking your brain trying to find a way to get braces, without having to suffer 2 or more years with their awful appearance, then we have got the solution for you. One word .. Invisalign.
What is Invisalign?
Invisalign is a true marvel of modern dentistry. It is a manifestation of everything this digital age offers: Speed, accuracy and comfort. Invisalign changed the face of orthodontics forever. No longer have you wear those ugly metallic brackets or wires, or those colorful elastics. Instead, Invisalign is a system of invisible, plastic molds called aligners, and next we explain how does Invisalign work, and how it solved almost every problem that braces presented.
How does Invisalign work?
The aligners fit the outer surface of the teeth, without being attached to them. They apply pressure in a certain manner, pushing the teeth into the desired position. Each case needs between 15 and 25 aligners, and each is worn for 10 to 15 days before needing to be changed.
After the treatment is finished, the teeth are kept in place using a retainer. This retainer is a thin piece of wire that is attached to the inner surface of the teeth, making it invisible to anyone who looks your way.

What does Invisalign solve?
Any problem you could think of regarding traditional braces, Invisalign solved it. These include:
-
Appearance:
This goes without saying. Swapping metallic brackets for the invisible aligners is a dream come true, especially for adults.
-
Comfort:
Anyone who has ever worn braces complain of how uncomfortable they are. The brackets cut and bruise the lips and cheeks, and the pulling action gives you a constant itching sensation. Not to mention the gum inflammation they cause. Invisalign has none of that. No brackets mean no cuts, and they use a pushing rather than pulling motion, making them much more comfortable.
-
Oral hygiene:
You can remove the aligners when you need to, So when you go to brush and floss, there is nothing on your teeth to make the action harder, and the overall result is better oral hygiene and much less inflammation of the gums.
-
Speed:
Traditional braces take anywhere between 6 months to 2 years. That is a long time to be wearing a very uncomfortable contraption. Invisalign is computer-made. This makes it not only super accurate, but quite fast as well. Average time for Invisalign treatment is between 6 and 9 months, with only the most complicated cases taking more than 12 months.
Invisalign is the epitome of excellence in the world of orthodontics.
